Thankful

Thankful! I am so thankful for seemingly everything. Scripture say’s in all things give thanks to God. Not because of all things, but in all things. “No good thing will He withhold for those who do what is right in His sight.” I am so thankful for my relationship with the creator of the universe. My wife, children, and granddaughters. I am thankful for all of the family of Life Church. The leaders, servers, givers that makes the ministry of Life Church function.

We all need perspective, more importantly proper perspective. To love, to appreciate, to value, to encourage. May I do my part today to help provide the encouragement and strength others need as others provide the same for me. Together we can make a difference in this world as we advance His Kingdom and bring hope into the lives of those who don’t yet know what we know. Those who are existing not living.

Overflow

In my devo time today I was reminded of God's desire for me is to have an overflow. So often we focus our minds on what we don't have. I believe our focus needs to be on the provider of abundance not our current lack. God not only wants to meet our needs but he wants to cause us to have an overflow in our lives. An overflow of joy, peace, love, finances, everything good. 

You prepare a feast for me
      in the presence of my enemies.
   You honor me by anointing my head with oil.
      My cup overflows with blessings. Psa 23:5 nlt 

An overflow to be a blessing to others. Believe what God has said is true. Expect God's blessings to be yours. Stay out of doubt by speaking His Word not your circumstances. Be thankful for all He has done for you, and know He loves you so much He wants to bless you even more. 

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance to the full, till it overflows. John 10:10 amp

Get in the "flow" today and be a blessing everywhere you go.

Whiners and Complainers

Here's a word for you today.   STOP!!! 

Joshua 1:7-8 (New Living Translation)

7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. 8 Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Just Get Up - Shut Up - Be Strong and Do It - God is with you - for you - and in you! 

Hopefully I have spoken the Truth in love - I'll work more tomorrow on the "love" part.

Wisdom For Life

I try to start each day with the "Proverb of the day". Through the years i believe this has helped me to have more wisdom than I would have had without it. Today as i began to read Proverbs Chapter 1, I saw something "new". Isn't it amazing how many times we can read God's Word and still discover the new elements of his knowledge being made available to us by His Spirit. 

These are the wise sayings of Solomon, 
   David's son, Israel's king—
Written down so we'll know how to live well and right, 
   to understand what life means and where it's going;
A manual for living, 
   for learning what's right and just and fair;
To teach the inexperienced the ropes 
   and give our young people a grasp on reality.
There's something here also for seasoned men and women, 
   still a thing or two for the experienced to learn—
Fresh wisdom to probe and penetrate, 
   the rhymes and reasons of wise men and women.
Start with God
 7 Start with God—the first step in learning is bowing down to God; 
   only fools thumb their noses at such wisdom and learning. 

The part that struck me the most today, was "give our young people a grasp on reality". Wow! Isn't this what our young people need more than anything else?

May we do our part to not only direct them to the Truth of God's Word, but to lead by example as we allow His Word to work in our lives. 

Wisdom is ours. Take it by faith. Let it work in and through your life today.
